Venice the Series, Season 4, Episode 12

Well since my tendency to procrastinate made it impossible for me to do this sooner, let’s see how this episode holds up, lo these many months later, or if I’m still annoyed by all of Gina’s many speeches.

Jake smarms onto the scene and manages to get Alan alone, reassuring him that he’s talked to all the key players and this wedding is going off without a hitch. ...Seriously how Rube Goldberg is this plan of theirs? Anyway, Alan is all, well if everything is fine why are you freaking out? while Jake reassures him that he’s got this. Kathryn saunters up and they both try to pretend they aren’t planning to rob her blind.

Venice the Series: Season 4, Episode 11

And now, finally, the pentultimate episode of Venice the Series: Season 4. Gina’s apologized to her family for acting bitchy and ungrateful when she came back from the dead. Ani discovered that Lara’s still drinking and responded by taking off her ring and walking out of the house.

The episode opens with Lara still sitting at the dining room table where she’d prepared a romantic meal for Ani and drinking. She picks up Ani’s ring and mulls it over for a while. She tries to fit it on her pinky finger with limited success and I’m struck by how tiny Jessica Leccia’s fingers must be. Lara begs Ani to come home. With the open bottle of something alcoholic on the table, it’s probably not the most logical plea, but Lara’s heart-broken, devastated and not in a logical place at all.

Venice the Series: Season 4, Episode 10

Episode 10. It's getting near the end of the season. I would say that things are starting to heat up and plot points are coming together, but that's been happening all season long. Let's just see what the awesome Venice team has for us now!

Ha. Alan’s drinking in a bar and “working”. Jake skeeves on by to ask Alan if he’s heard. Alan almost makes me snort soda out of my nose when he counters by asking, “which thing?” It’s a nice meta tip of the hat to Venice’s usual insane plot twists.

Venice the Series: Season 4, Episode 9

Welcome to this, the ninth recap of the fourth season of Venice the Series.

…which is way more welcoming than Gina’s being. We pick up where the last episode left off. Gina’s come back from the waiting room in the sky and is showing signs of waking up. The Colonel goes off to get a doctor, so Guya’s the only one who hears Gina tell Ani and Sarah to leave her alone. Guya seems horrified by what Gina’s saying or maybe she’s just relieved that Gina’s awake.

Venice the Series: Season 4, Episode 8

Oh, look, me doing something in a timely manner. No one faint from the shock. Sadly I feel like I’ve already used that joke before in these recaps. At any rate, let’s do this.

We open to Owen and Gina in heaven and/or the great big waiting room in the sky. Gina is delighted to be there. Owen is delighted to see Gina. Owen and Gina do the quick catch up. Gina is so very delighted to see him, but has an awkward moment when she has to say that Owen is dead. Owen’s had time to adjust though, so he’s totally cool with it. He does have a minor freakout about Gina’s current state of liveliness though. Teddy reassures him that Gina’s not actually dead...yet. She still has a choice to make. ...which rapidly dissolves into the best kind of sibling bickering. Teddy has a headache already. I can’t blame him, but it’s awesome and so the Brognos. All this picture needs to be complete is some booze.

Venice the Series: Season 4, Episode 7

Well Lara’s definitely done things that she can’t erase, but I have a feeling that she's going to try. ...And I'm still making bad opening credits song related puns. My bad. Let’s see what everyone's up to instead.

Venice the Series: Season 4, Episode 6

M’kay, so now I’m clipping through these recaps at…a steady pace. I’m sorry, I’m sorry. Bad Jaina, no cookie. Episode Six opens with a reminder about That Damn Letter, that Lara is an unreliable source of information and that she played pyromaniac with said letter. Also that Gina wanted to propose to Ani but instead got her heart crushed at Ani’s engagement party to Lara. And fun times were had by all. Not.

Hi, Gina’s breast. Was I supposed to be looking at her face? I’m sorry. At any rate we don’t immediately find out who “It’s you” is that showed up at Gina’s door the night before. I’m betting it wasn’t Ani.
